"YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT"
As cliché as it sounds, it's a very
true statement. The simple fact is that if you eat
lots of junk and crappy food, your performance in the
gym will be junk and in turn your body will look like
crap! Remember also that when you are in the gym you
are actually tearing down your muscles. This is another
reason why it is very important for you to replenish
your body with optimum food, nutrition, oh yes and
proper rest in order for it to recover and grow.
"RULES TO LIVE BY" … Do yourself
a favor and learn to food shop smartly and read labels.
Learn how to cook without using salts of any kind
and creamy cover ups like gravies and sauces. You would
be pleasantly surprised at how really good food tastes
in it's own natural state.
Also, learn how to eat every 3 hours.

WHAT DOES RENNE' EAT?
My diet is nothing exotic, like airlifting in the bull
carcass that was slain during a Madrid bull fight. I
eat the usual foods (except for beef and foul which I
gave up in June of this year). Today's protein choices
for me come from lots of different types of fish, tofu
and other soy products, a variety of choice nuts and
nut butters, egg whites, beans and legumes. As for my
carbs, I keep them pretty low year round.
I prefer to eat sweet and red potatoes, tortillas, basmati
and Thai sticky rice. Keeping my carbs low has worked
for me for a number of years and I have not sacrificed
muscle at all. I like eating a lot of vegetables
and I get pretty creative in preparing them. Hey,
I have a recipe for a peanut butter and vegetable soup
if you are interested.
For the most part "I EAT CLEAN
YEAR ROUND". On
Sundays, I have a cheat day . Along with my usually planned
meals I will eat something that i have been craving like
ice cream, blueberry muffins and gummy bears. These are
my favorite cheat foods. Now, when I say cheat, I mean
I will eat the entire 1/2 gallon of ice cream, a 20 pack
of blueberry muffins and 1 lb. of gummy bears. I do it,
get it out of my system, no guilt, it's done.
